Alves de Sousa Personal Reserve 1997 was the year of the debut. An old vineyard at Quinta da Gaivosa and the desire to observe this terroir in the face of an extended aging period. A new wine appears. It does not deny its origins but gains its own identity. The exclusivity of the first harvest is clearly shown in the numbers, Only 197 boxes… of a unit. Launched only in years of exceptional quality, always in limited quantities, it represents one of the best facets of Quinta da Gaivosa. Its launch on the market is made with a minimum of 7 years of age, of which 5 years in bottle, taking up the true philosophy of "reservations" and "wine cellars".
