V.Duas Quintas Reserva tinto 2019 Vinhos do Douro

Touriga Nacional (66%), Touriga Francesa (21%) and Tinta da Barca (13%).

Test results:

Intense and dense dark color. Fine and complex aroma. Humus, spices, violets and orange blossoms are notes that can appear in the tasting of this wine while young. If kept in good condition, little by little, the wine melts into the deep and intense bottle bouquet, which reminds us of the red fruits and the freshness of the earth. In the mouth, the Duas Quintas Reserva red 2013 is powerful but velvety, always with the elegance that characterizes the Duas Quintas Reserva.

The grapes, from selected parcels of our Quintas de Ervamoira and Bons Ares, were harvested and selected manually, in small volume boxes. The Ervamoira grapes are vinified in granite presses and the Bons Ares grapes in concrete and wooden vats with long maceration. After destubing and pressing in a vertical press, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in casks from 6000 to 10,000 liters. For 16 months it aged in new barrels of one year and two years. The wine was bottled in early July 2015.

We recommend serving it with a vegetarian tajine of aubergine, feijoada and stewed game dishes, such as partridge rice and stewed boar. Ideal as an accompaniment to stuffed turkey and traditional Portuguese stew. Also try to pair it with Queijo da Serra buttery and Stilton.
