V.T Esporão Colh.2019Vinhos do Alentejo
It was certified in organic production. The 2019 agricultural year recorded temperatures corresponding to the average of the last 20 years, while the recorded rainfall values were below the average values for the same period. In the spring and until the beginning of the summer, temperatures were higher than in the year 2018, which led to a considerable advance in the phenology of the vine, translating into the anticipation of the harvest in about 2 weeks, compared to 2018. Summer registered lower temperatures in the painter-maturation period, promoting a constant and homogeneous evolution of maturation, ideal conditions for an excellent quality raw material. SOIL GEOLOGY Granitic / schistous nature, clay-loam structure. AVERAGE AGE OF VINEYARDS 12 years. VARIETIES Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, Aragonez, Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Franca VINIFICATION / INTERNSHIP Beginning of the co-fermentation of grapes in lagares, with stepping at controlled temperatures (22-25ºC), ending in concrete vats. Maturation, after malolactic fermentation, took place in the same concrete vats for 6 months. The micro-oxygenation conditions, unique to this type of deposit, seek to respect the character of the wine. COLOR Clear appearance, ruby color. AROMA Highlight for the ripe red fruit, some compote of wild blackberries and a slight herbaceous and spicy nuance. TASTE Fresh and balanced, with a silky texture where the purity of red fruit predominates, with an elegant and persistent finish.
