Crochet is a wine made with four hands that faithfully reflects the colossal and indomitable spirit of the Douro. A wine made by two friends, Susana Esteban and Sandra Tavares da Silva, winemakers who share not only a deep friendship but also a common passion for wine and a similar sensitivity and visions of what the Douro can be and has to offer. Two oenologists who joined forces to produce this Douro wine that brings together the feeling and the common experience of many vintage together and separately. Designation of origin: Douro DOC Producer: Esteban & Tavares Vinhos - Lda Varieties: 60% Touriga Franca, 40% Touriga Nacional Vintage: Manual in 15 kg boxes with strict selection at the cellar entrance. Winemaking: In stainless steel vat with post fermentative maceration. Internship: 18 months in French oak barrels 40% new and 60% second year. Bottling: September 2017 Tasting note: Inky red color. Fruity but compact, almost monolithic, it alternates between the delicacy of the fruit and an intensely mineral profile surprising by the softness of the tannins, the aromatic depth and the vehemence of the structure. Tense and serious, it is a strict and well-mannered red that presents itself as fine and elegant.
