In 2013, Sónia Martins identified in Serra de São Mamede, in Portalegre, the perfect characteristics to start the production of Alentejo wines with an altitude and differentiation character. In the Serra de São Mamede, through the fusion soils between shale, clay and granite, it managed to produce wines of an enviable minerality, also standing out for the freshness of the altitude. At the Tapada do Coronel estate in old vineyards the Sericaia Tapada do Coronel edition took shape. TECHNICAL INFORMATION Climate: Mediterranean - Continental Soil: Granite, Shale and Clay - slime. Grape varieties: Antão Vaz, Roupeiro and others in old vineyards of Tapada do Coronel. Production: 1,500 bottles Winemaking: Light skin maceration, fermentation at low temperatures in French oak barrels. Aging: 4 months in French oak barrels with batonnage. Bottling: 2017 TASTING NOTES Color: Bright citrus yellow Aroma: Elegant, mineral aroma with the fruit well combined with the smoked wood. Palate: Very balanced in the mouth, with good texture and acidity, it presents ripe fruit flavors evolving to more complex flavors due to its aging in wood.
