THE WINE Planalto is today one of the greatest references of white wine in the Douro Demarcated Region, the result of in-depth studies carried out over the years, the careful choice of the grape varieties that compose it and the use of the best winemaking technology in its production. TEST RESULTS Bright color with greenish nuances. Aroma of good intensity, with notes of white fruits, tropical fruits, light citrus, floral and with some stony. In the mouth it has a lively attack, with well integrated acidity that gives it excellent freshness, notes of white fruits, tropical fruits and a very harmonious finish. WINEMAKER: Luís Sottomayor GRAPE VARIETIES: 20% Viosinho, 20% Malvasia Fina, 15% Gouveio, 15% Arinto, 15% Codega, 10% Rabigato, 5% Moscate VINIFICATION Grapes of selected varieties from the high areas of the Douro region. In these high altitude areas, grapes are chosen with the desired ripeness and acidity for this type of wine. After gentle destemming, the grapes are pressed, followed by low temperature decanting with strict oenological control. After obtaining the necessary clarity, a long alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature between 16ºC and 18ºC follows. The wines are stored at Adega de Vila Real, separated by grape variety or vineyard. MATURATION During the period between the alcoholic fermentation and the execution of the final batch, the existing batches are subjected to numerous tests and analyzes, in order to ascertain their quality. The final blend is prepared after careful selection and submitted to clarification and stabilization treatment before bottling. SAVE The full quality of this wine can be appreciated 3 months after bottling, remaining in the best conditions for 2 to 3 years, provided it is kept in a horizontal position at temperatures of 10ºC to 15ºC. SERVE It does not need to be decanted. Serve between 9ºC-11ºC. ENJOY: Ideal to accompany fish dishes and salads and white meats.
